Accept & embrace his or her uniqueness!
This always presents a challenge when we don’t damper down that inner tendency to feel that our way is the right way. If you plan to build a lasting relationship, it is imperative to realize that your way may be a good way, but isn’t the only way. Is there only one way to clean a house? Is there only one way to be romantic? Is there only one way to style your hair? Far too often, our environment leads us to believe that behaviors, tastes and appearances different from our own are strange and unacceptable. If a person’s behavior and approach to doing things is different, but not destructive or offensive, it is their right to be themselves. Imagine being criticized or ridiculed for something you have done differently for years by the person your heart wants to love. It would not be encouraging at all.
Accepting a person and their uniqueness says that you appreciate them for who they are. He or she will love you for it! Besides, the uniqueness of your mate may open the door for a multitude of new experiences and ideas that you may very well enjoy when given a chance.
